The Face Shop Flebeaute Collagenic 70 Cream

I went home one weekend & noticed that my mum’s complexion has improved significantly!!!  She looks really really different (in a good way, of course).  And when I asked her, “what did you do to your face?

The following is an excerpt of what she said,

“I tell you, no joke.  The Face Shop Collagen cream is damn good.  It really gives the skin a lot of moisture & even the cheeks are like… lifted up.  You don’t believe, you go & try.”

I don’t need to try.  When I look her face, I know it works.

Since I am nearing that age to worry about saggy loose skin, I am seriously thinking of getting 1 tub for myself.  But I still have not finished the one from Beauty Credit & I’m not very religious with anti-aging for now.  That’s because I’m more concerned about my T-zone oiliness, freckles, pus-like zits & dry wrinkly eyes.

But still, I am curious enough to try out that collagen cream.

The first thing that surprised me is the opening of the tub of cream.

See?  The opening so small, should be quite difficult to dig the cream out, right?  And no way am I sticking my finger in that.  It will just trigger my OMG-bacteria signals.

But luckily, it comes with a cute little wavy stick to get the cream from the bottom of the tub.  Looks like a cute mini golf club!!!

Second thing that surprised me was the consistency of the cream.  It looks & feels like… … soft cheese which is thick & almost clumpy.  So I’m very curious to know what it would feel like on my face.

*smears cream on face*

Not bad!!!

I don’t know if it is because that tub of cream is kept away from the sun or what, but when I applied it to my face, it actually felt good & slightly cool (not minty cool, but more like low temperature cool).  No sticky & no heavy feeling on the skin.

I didn’t get any allergic or sensitive reaction & no funny pus-like zits formed around my face.  Usually products that are too harsh on my skin will cause an almost immediate reaction the very next morning.

Seeing what wonders it did for my mom, I seriously will give it some consideration in a few years’ time when I need collagen help.

Word of advice:  If you get this product, apply some on your neck as well.  Then you won’t end up looking like you went for plastic surgery on your face, but neglected the neck.  I call it the Young Face Old Neck syndrome.

Also, the only 1 thing that I did not fancy was the smell of the cream.  It irritated me with its strong fragrance.  But then again, some perfumes with a sharp scent like Calvin Klein or Hugo Boss makes me dizzy too (not in a good way).  So, I suggest that before you purchase this product, make sure you test it out first.  Because this is going to be on your face the whole night & you definitely do not want to feel nauseous in your sleep. hahaha…

I also did not get to take a photo of the ingredient list because my mother already threw the box away.  =\  I really am interested to see what exactly did The Face Shop put in this collagen cream.  Well, if I manage to get my hands on it, I’ll post an update here.

In the meantime, I’m going to watch The Mentalist Season 2 now.  I love this TV series!

The Face Shop: Raspberry Collagen Eye Patch

29 Aug

As we age, our eyelids start to sag.  Fine lines appear when we laugh (oh hell, my laugh lines are even there when I am not laughing).  Our skin starts to dry up, resulting in even more wrinkles & looser saggy skin.  Sad.

Like some wise one said, “Eyes are the windows to the soul”.

But what if our eyes look like we haven’t slept for days or what if they look lifeless???  What would that say about our souls???  :-\

So, off I go in search for the perfect (is there really such a thing as perfect?) remedy for tired eyes that are loosing their elasticity.

My sister’s friend then told me that she SWEARS BY this eye patch from The Face Shop which she first discovered in Korea.  She told me that she bought practically a whole luggage back because it was so much cheaper than getting them in Singapore & she was willing to SELL me some.  😐  Sell?  Can give or not?  *me the cheapskate fella*

I eventually bought 8 packets of eye patches from her because she said that to achieve optimum results, the Korean salesperson told her to use it at least 2 times a week for a continuous period of 4 weeks.

Sadly, the instructions are all in Korean.  How I wish that The Face Shop Korea can provide an English translation like their competitor – The Skin Food Korea!!!  I have absolutely no idea what it is trying to tell me.  See below photo:

Especially the cute little girl cartoon that they drew on the back of the packet.  See below photo:

Seriously.

What is it trying to tell me???

*ponders over the drawing for a while*

Ahh!!  *light bulb moment*

I think it’s trying to say, “look cute .  30-40 mins later, then put on collagen eye patches under the eyes.

Yes??????

No???

Sigh.

Send help, please.

In the end, I managed to get my sister to contact her friend for some advise.

Her friend told me that the salesperson in Korea gave her some interesting tips as follows (and she couldn’t have provided these tips when my sister went to collect my eye patches from her???? I mean, I super appreciate it):

1)  There are 2 sides to the eye patch.  The gauze side & the jelly side.  So we’ll have to determine which is which first.  Of course, paste the jelly side to your eyes.

2)  Leave it under your eyes for 30 – 40mins.

3)  Remove.

4)  Throw away?????  NO.  The process is not done!  You may also make use of the eye patches for your laugh lines!!!  Don’t waste!!!  PASTE IT at the corner of your lips!!!

5)  Leave them on for another 10 – 15 mins.

6)  Remove.

7)  Ok… NOW you may throw the eye patches away.

I got to rave about the Raspberry Collagen Eye Patch from The Face Shop.  After finishing the eye patch supplies at the end of the 4-week testing, I am totally in love with this product now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally understand why my sister’s friend swears by this eye patch.  For the simple fact that it WORKS.

The skin around my eye area is no longer loose.  It is tighter.  My eyes look brighter (although I’m not too sure about how moisturizing the eye patch can be)!!!  Actually, I’m quite curious if this raspberry eye patch can get rid of dark circles as well because I do feel that it appears slightly lighter, but because the whole packet is written in Korea, I can never fully understand what purpose it is for except for the word COLLAGEN on the front of the packet.  Or maybe it is because my eyes don’t look that tired anymore, so they look brighter??  *shrugs*

Collagen = tighter = younger = fresher

*big love for collagen*

I tried to take before & after pictures of my eyes, but the difference doesn’t really show up on photos.  I mean, it is not cosmetic surgery that I had gone thru, right????  So the changes are not THAT drastic to be captured on film.

Besides, there are too many factors that contribute to an accurate photo (like lighting or the angle of the camera, etc).  And I am so not prepared to use the eye patch on only ONE side of my eye, then take a photo to compare both sides.  The sacrifice is way too big, man.

Using just the naked eye to examine myself in the mirror, there really is an improvement.  I totally approve of this eye patch!!!

You can get this in our local The Face Shop stores.  But I’m warning you, it doesn’t come cheap.  The last time I checked, they are selling this at $9.90 for 2 packets.  1 packet contains 1 pair of eye patch.  So, this means it costs $4.95 per packet for 1 time use.  It is actually more expensive than some of the mask sheets I got.  But I guess it is worth it.  That’s why I encourage you to use the eye patches for your laugh lines too.

UTILIZE THE PRODUCT TO ITS FULLEST!!!!!!!

BE CHEAPSKATE LIKE ME!!!!!!

Oh right, before I end this post, I give this a SUPER ULTRA BIG Berry Mii stamp of approval!!!!  =D

The Face Shop: Fruit Garden Hand Lotion

13 Aug

Holla!  For some reason, no matter how much water I drink or how many fruits I eat, my body is always parched.  Even when I go for spas, the therapists always say that I have dry body skin (but why is my T-zone SO OILY???)

At times, my hands feel so dry that it actually feels like the skin is stretching painfully like it is about to tear (I’m not kidding you, it is THAT dry).

Dry skin is due to the lack of natural body moisture.  Without this moisture, our body will lack its natural smoothness & firmness.  It will also lead to fine lines & wrinkles.

I am officially worried & do not want to end up looking like a dried prune anytime soon.  Especially when I work in an air-conditioned office which makes my body feel drier.

So,  I decided to get the hand lotion about 3 months ago.  Used it on my hands, arms, legs, feet & anywhere that feels dry.  I know it states that it’s only for HAND, but what the hell, right?

The hand lotion does smell VERY VERY pleasant!!!  Each time after application, I’m always bringing my hands to my nose for a whiff of the fragrance.  *eyeballs roll up into my head in ecstacy*… Nice smells make me feel soooooo high!!!!!  Feels like I just +50 strength & can go work like a cow now!!

Over these 3 months of applying the hand lotion everyday, I didn’t see any improvement to my hands.  Yes, they do feel smooth & soft right after application.  Yes, they prevented my skin from experiencing the dry ‘tearing’ feeling.  It is not oily nor sticky after application.  The sales asst evn told me that it was one of their best-sellers for hand creams.  =\  hmm… maybe more for normal skin but not hands that are as dry as mine.

Sad to say, there was no improvement.  I can still see that my skin quite wrinkly.  =(

However!  Lovely lovely fragrance.  One day, a friend was sitting next to me when she smelt the scent from the hand cream & asked me what perfume I was using.  I told her that it was coming from The Face Shop’s hand cream.  And you know what that crazy woman did???  She just had to TASTE it, give it a little lick & she SWALLOWED it.  (-_-)  Siao.  She then gave me this stoned-face & said that it tastes nothing like the peach nor pomegranate, even though it was written on the tube that it contains natural peach & pomegranate juices.

Overall, no Berry Mii stamp of approval from me.

Just maybe a little nod of approval.

Have you tried The Face Shop:  Fruit Garden Hand Lotion?

Did the fruity smell send similar pleasant signals to your brain?  I LOVE THAT!
