Dropping By & Updating my Life in a Blog

6 Oct

I am on hibernation mode.  Work had been crazy, but I am no longer in that madness anymore.  I know I haven’t been updating the blog, but I have still been checking my emails regularly.

Thank you all for your emails.  Unfortunately, I do not have any more stock on the BSY Noni facial soap.  The sale was great, but I need a break  (hey is it me or does that actually rhyme).  I’ll keep all of you posted if I do bring in the soaps again.

I will be away still next Feb 2012.  However, I’ll still be updating bits & pieces here.

Oh btw, found out that my skin really likes Bod skincare products & the Renew cleaner.  Awesome.

And Akin Lemongrass Shampoo saved my dry frizzy unmanageable hair.  Well, my hair wasn’t that dry & frizzy before, but I guess it was the recent harsh cold weather.

Also, a lot of  you have asked me in the emails if I’ll be stocking up on products or which products you would like to see here.  Therefore, I would like to take the opportunity to let you all know that this is not a commercial blog.  This is my personal blog.

Once in a while, if you wanna have a spree, of course I would love to join in.

Once in a while, if I happen to get my hands on something that I have tested it & love it, of course I would put it up on the blog again (like the BSY Noni Facial Soap Bar).

Perhaps in future, I might turn this into a blogshop, but that’s after I am sure that I can dedicate enough time to it.  Becuz once it starts, I want to ensure that I am able to give you my 100% undivided attention.  Wah… so romantic, right?

My Mafia Bunny (Lionhead) & the Emo Bunny (Holland Lop) are doing great.  I never knew rabbits were intelligent.  But the Lionhead comes to me when I call his name.  And the Holland Lop…. … well, he just likes to emo one corner when I scold him, plus he shows his grumpiness by pooping & peeing on the floor right in front of me.  What a rebel!  I need to send him to a Rabbit Psychologist.

I turned into a shopaholic recently after I got out from a stressful job.

Recently passed a birthday & felt more matured.  Used to talk a lot, now I enjoy the peace & quiet.  I think it’s becuz of my previous job nature.  It required way too much talking.  I’m a born introvert, but a trained extrovert.  Socializing makes me giddy.  I would rather sit in one corner, away from the crowd.

Planning on getting married, but never got down to actually getting it done due to work commitments.  I’m going to be left on the shelf… old… aging… grey… wrinkly… most probably, smelly………

ok!  TA TA!  gotta go about with my daily errands.  ❤   Love you, my blog… i never intended to neglect you…

Dr. Organic: 100% Organic Aloe Vera Body Wash

26 Apr

i know i know… wat’s up with the purple background, right… LOL

Sometime ago, I bought this whole range on promotion!

=)  <– cheapskate smile

They have got the Body Wash (as shown here), the Deodorant & the soap bar (which I will post up later).  Berry Mii is berry busy with her new job now.  *sad puppy dog face that resembles Hush Puppies*

I read up on “Polysaccharide Rich”.  And seems that when it is used on skin, it acts like an antioxident & is a good water-binding agent.

The scent doesn’t really appeal to me.  i thought aloe vera is kind of scentless, but this has a ‘grassy’ scent.  A little like freshly cut grass but holding back on the ‘fresh’.

I also did not like the texture.  It is very… glue-like.  The shower gel is very thick & doesn’t dilute well with water.  It took me a few splashes of water & a lot of rubbing/scrubbing to get it to foam nicely.

Good thing is that it doesn’t leave my skin feel too tight or dry.  But I still need to slap on body moisturizer to make my skin feel great.

Ingredient wise, they look… okay.  Not exactly chemical-free, but I’m not THAT fussy.  I love the fact that the aloe leaf juice is ranked at the top, but then aqua is right beside it.  hmm… oh well.

I will not be getting this next time…  unless it’s on a ridiculously cheap promotion again.

How to stop lighting from striking the building?

15 Apr

What a serious topic, right?

I just happened to see someone on Facebook post this question on his status.

Some of his friends replied with fantastic answers like posting a link for him that explains some kind of Corona Discharge, etc etc.

So, I’m curious….

Do you know the answer to the question in the subject-heading?

How do we prevent lightning from striking a building?

Hmmm… let’s think about it for a second…

Got your answer?

No cheating………………. must think harder.

How to stop lighting from striking the building?

Best answer of the day was this female friend of his who wrote,

“U stand on the roof w ur finger pointing to the sky.  Like tat, u can save the building”.

Nature’s Farm: Pycnogenol (The Review)

29 Mar

I am such a procrastinator.  But thank you for reminding me that I should be doing an update on the Pycnogenol RX GOLD Super Strength which I have bought awhile ago (ok, not really AWHILE… actually quite some time back).

I have already finished the 2 bottles which I bought during a promotion at Nature’s Farm.  I took it regularly, one tablet a day.  After about 1 week, my bowel movements seem more regular… managed to poop everyday.  But then after a few weeks, it became irregular again, so I’m not sure if it’s the Pycnogenol or my diet that helped with the regular bowel movements before.  LOL… ok a bit gross to talk about bowels.  Let’s move on.

For the hefty price tag at SGD$323 a bottle (for regular price without promotion), I honestly do not think it had showed that much of a result.  I mean, for that kind of price, I would expect to have at least 2 of the following improvements:

1)  Soft dewy glowing skin that even babies will envy it

2)  Strong healthy eyes that won’t get tired even after watching 12 hours of tv

3)  Not have any other aged spots on my body

4)  Regular periods that are pain-free

… but sad to say, I didn’t see any visible improvements.

It could be that the 2 bottles of Pycnogenol are not enough for it to work, but come on… … … the price is heavy, so I would expect it to give me some good results even after ONE bottle, rightttttttt.  Besides, it’s RX GOLD Super Strength lehhhhh~~~~~ and it costs $323 a bottle at regular price… so it better be good.

Well, I guess the Pycnogenol has been very hyped up by advertisements & the internet, etc.  Just becuz some random French maritime pine bark extract got scrutinized by some researchers doesn’t mean that it will work for everyone.  And so wat if it has some kind of international patent… … *moody moody*… (ok, getting a bit sour here becuz I spent over 300 dollars & did not get supermodel-worthy glowing skin or have pain-free regular periods).

After I finished the 2 bottles of Pycnogenol, I had very disgruntedly decided to try out other kinds of supplements… like Aloe Vera Gel, Flaxseed Oil, Vitamin C, Cranberries, etc etc.

And you know what???  They are CHEAPER & more effective!  Plus, I can purchase like… 5 bottles of other supplements with the 300 dollars.  LOL  (sounds so cheapskate, but for a better cause)

I’m also wondering if any of you have tried this Pycnogenol as well?  If so, did it give you any results?  Or am I the only unlucky one.

So for those of you who have been curious about this product, at least now you know that it did not work for one person in this world.  Me.

*gravitates into a dark corner to emo a bit*

that tuff of hair looks like it’s
coming out from his nostrils…

Me & My Youthful Looks (LOL)

16 Mar

It’s true.  Everyone says that I look like I’m in my mid 20s.  LOL

Even when I buy cigarettes for my friend at 7-11, the cashier will ask to check my ID.  Or when I go to the theatre to watch a R21 movie, the ticketing staff will ask for my ID.  And there was this one time when this auntie came over to chat with me, asking me about my mother, and asking me about this & that… then I was like “who the hell is this auntie”… and after a few minutes later, she realized her mistake & admitted that she thought I was my sister (who was 10 years younger than me ok).  LOL i know very thick skin, but it’s true.

I guess looking youthful has its perks.  Like people will fuss around me because they think I’m a kid & I can’t look after myself.  And for the obvious reason that I don’t look like an old hag.

However, I seem to realize that youthful looks can be very frustrating as well.

It is precisely that people think you are a kid, so they don’t respect you that much… or they try & bully you to do their stuff… or they think that  you are inexperienced so they can try & make you change your procedures to suit them even if it means inconveniencing yourself… or they talk to you with a lesser amount of respect.

ok, I think you can guess by now that I had experienced some bad incidents at work.

and it’s ALL MY FAULT!!!  Because I left a good management job for a new job that downgraded myself in position (but slightly higher in salary).  So now I don’t get the respect that I should deserve for my skills & knowledge.  =(   Serve me right.  Somewhere out there, I can hear my ex-boss saying, ‘I TOLD YOU SO”.

But… I just wanted to indulge in some personal time & not spend all my life at work.  But then again, I am still spending A LOT of time at my new workplace because the system is so terrible & so messy that I have to work OT to clear up all the crap.

hahahaha… I so regret leaving my 1st serious job for a supposedly relaxing new job (but it now seems like I got conned into the job).  sigh… i hate interviewers who misrepresent the job scope & working environment during my interviews.  I feel cheated.

Life is unfair.  So kill yourself or get over it.

Side Note (and very out of point):  Calling out to Sheryl, your BSY soap is still with me!  I am already bringing in the 7th batch of soaps for new buyers. LOL.  You already paid for this, so I want to hand it over to you!  I have been sms’ing you but I didn’t get any reply.  Did you change your hp number????  If you see this message, please email me at to arrange a date & time & place to collect it.  hahaha…

Sorry for the Spiderwebs

8 Mar

It has been a while since I last blogged.

I am a terrible terrible person.

Just started on my new sucky job. I have no idea what I have gotten myself into until the 1st day at work.

The pay is higher than my previous job, but dunno why the job scope is lower level. Which means that I am being paid higher to do an assistant’s job when I was previously paid lower but performing at an executive/manager level. Makes sense?

Most of you will be saying, “That is good. You are paid more for lesser responsibilities.”

You are so wrong.

Doing a lower level job is unsatisfying & unrewarding. My brain is asking me for more challenging work. And of course, an actual assistant to delegate work to.

*wails in pain like a banshee who just stepped in fresh cow dung*

So for now, I’m afraid I cannot devote time in blogging. But I have a feeling that very soon, I will be able to blog A LOT. hehehe…

Oh btw, if you are still looking to purchase the BSY soap, please email directly to me at

Also, I have Chagrin Valley soaps going at a flat rate of SGD$22 per piece (postage not included yet) if you are interested. Email me too.

I’ll be back to update my blog soon!

Valentine’s Day Special: The Story about The Most Un-Romantic Boyfriend

14 Feb

Happy Valentine’s to all you love bugs!!!

Did you take leave or skip school just to celebrate today with your loved one?  Naughty naughty…

Well, V-day has never been anything special to me.  I remember that there was this one V-day where my bf brought me to eat char kway teow at the food court downstairs.  And the food court was NON-AIRCON somemore.  So unglam.  But in the 4 years that we were together, I don’t recall us celebrating V-day like there’s no tomorrow.  In fact, I think today he is going to bring me to that same non-aircon food court for duck noodles.  I guess the only comfort that I can get is that the duck noodles is surprisingly AWESOME.

My bf does not plan for anything on special occasions like birthdays, v-days, anniversaries, etc.  My friends said, “ohhh you must hint him!  Some guys don’t know what to do!

Don’t talk about HINT, okay.  Becuz even when I said it directly to his face, “you better plan something good!“, he still will not do it.  Then when I get all disappointed, he goes, “but everyday is so lovey dovey already, no need to celebrate on just one particular day“.

What… a… lame… cliche… line.

oh somebody just kill me pls.

Since then, I have already given up on hinting / leaving clues / instructing / resorting to physical violence like pinch, spank, knead his flesh with my twig-like fingers / resorting to emotional blackmail like pretending to sulk, cry, displaying moody mood swings / etc.

BAH!  I hate V-days.

In the end, I just try and remember the good stuff.

Like how he would never fail send me to work & pick me up from work with  no complains.

And he would want me to get to know his friends & he makes the effort to know mine as well.

And he would give me a kiss me every now & then which makes me feel that he is being loving.

And he would tell jokes that make me laugh & life with him isn’t boring at all.  We would never fail to have topic to chat about all day.

He would rub ointment on my tummy when I’m getting one of those constipation days.  LOL.

He would be super patient with me during my PMS’y mood swings.

On CNY or mooncake festivals or anything chinese’y kind of celebrations, he would never fail to get my family some gifts relating to that festival.

When my parents were moving house, he had offered to help & had made multiple trips just to help them carry their stuffs from the old house and drive them to the new house.

He cared & offered advice to my brother when there was sort of a rough patch going on in my brother’s life.

Ok, I think I feel better about not having a romantic boyfriend on this V-day.

On top of that, I have been whining about how we were going ahead with the wedding preparations already, but I haven’t gotten a proper marriage proposal.

And guess what?

He did a surprise  me with a proposal last Friday, but it was so… … …

I dunno whether to laugh or cry.

I think I shall go lie down now.

The Much Talked About: Oil-Cleansing Method

9 Feb

I think this is a gorgeous photo, but don’t know why they uploaded it so small.  =(

The OCM (Oil Cleansing Method) was probably invented a few years back.  The oldest source that I could trace was published back in year 2007, but I’m pretty sure it was invented during the caveman era.  JUST KIDDING.

I did a lot of research on this, mainly reading on what are the results that others have achieved.  Most of them have nice things to say, but a handful of them did not like the OCM.

I have tried sort of an OCM myself when I bought the Carrot Butter Cleanser from The Organic Pharmacy.  It was a small tub of cleanser but it lasted me about 2 weeks.  Read about my review HERE.  I don’t mind getting a full-size, but it’s way too expensive to get it in Singapore.  So I am hoping that my friend will be able to buy it for me when he goes over the London this March.  *prays hard*

I learnt that the carrier oil used is to dissolve impurities that are embedded in our pores.  Then when you use a hot towel to remove the oil, the heat/steam will open your pores & cleanse your skin at the same time.  I read online that the feedback received was that they experience fewer blackheads, clogged pores & clearer skin!

I never had the guts to use oil on my skin, but recently, I decided to just go for it.  So I tried using Extra Virgin Olive Oil for OCM, but it broke me out in cystic acne around my temples.  T.T  *cries hard*

… I was sooooooooooooo sad!!!  I should have stayed cautious & avoid OCM altogether!

But not to be defeated by the 1st attempt, I switched to Jojoba Oil & I achieved slightly better results with that.  Though I do not see any reduction in blackheads or clogged pores, my face does felt slightly moisturized after cleansing.  Not so tight & dry compared to regular cleansers.  But perhaps I have not used it long enough to see a HUGE major difference.  I’ll continue, though.  But I still prefer the Carrot Butter Cleanser from The Organic Pharmacy.

This is how I do it:

1)  Put about 5 drops of oil on my palm & rub my palms together to warm up the oil.  I know some people put like… 10-15 drops.  I dunno if it’s because more oil = higher efficiency… or maybe they just have a big face.

2)  Massage my face for about 1-2 minutes.  I concentrate more on the problem areas that has blackheads, whiteheads & congested skin.

3)  I use runny hot water from the shower to dampen my face towel.  Then I put it over my face for a couple of seconds until it starts to cool, then I wipe off in a circular motion.  Then repeat until all traces of oil are removed.

4)  I sometimes double-cleanse with a cleanser.

5)  Proceed with the rest of my skincare regime.

I guess the important thing is to do enough research to see which oil suits your skin most & try the OCM.  I initially thought that EVOO would be good, but then it broke me out. (argh… bad memories)   T.T  *wails hard*

So I did a little more research & found that Jojoba oil is an array of liquid wax ester which is similar to human sebum.  It also has this substance that is similar to collagen.  Awesome.  The oil is said to be suitable for almost all skin types.  I read that people usually use it as a moisturizer to prevent dryness, improve skin elasticity and suppleness.

As much as I would like to rave about the OCM, but it didn’t give an extremely positive result after almost 1 month.  But I will definitely still use this as a facial moisturizer.  And sometimes, I also mix a little of Jojoba oil with Rosehip oil for my body.  =D

I’ll sit on this one for a little bit.  No Berry Mii stamp of approval yet.
