A Whole Bunch of Skin/Hair Rediscovery

26 Jan

No blog post done for the past 2 weeks.  hahaha…  again, the same excuse – I have been busy.  With both work & KAW.

For this Chinese New Year, I am excited!  Nothing to do with CNY though.  I hardly celebrate CNY anyway.

I am excited due to a rediscovery of my problematic sensitive-prone skin.  I’m still using the BSY soap as a cleanser, though I have to learnt to rotate it with the 100% Pure cleanser which I bought during my visit to the seller’s place.  Why do I have to rotate?  It is for the following reasons:

1)  The question would be… if I don’t rotate with the 100% Pure cleanser, then who is going to finish up that cleanser for me?  LOL.  I can’t just let the 100% Pure cleanser sit in my cupboard.  It just looks… … lonely.  Also, I would want to use that up before it goes rancid.

2)  A reader who has dry & pimply skin told me that she rotates the BSY soap with her own cleanser.  Her feedback was that the BSY soap made her skin drier.  So by rotating, her skin was not that dry & her pimples started to clear up.  What she did was to use her own cleanser in the morning, then the BSY soap in the night.  Thus, I decided to copy her method.  LOL.

3)  Because of Points 1 & 2 above, I accidentally also found out that my skin likes the rotating method.

Another thing is that I have to update my review on the GoW products (which I had given a review previously HERE), specifically the hydrating mists & the vinegar toner.

I had recently switched it up a bit with the following routine:

1)  After cleansing face, spritz with Avene Thermal Water.

2)  Allow it to air dry just a little bit, then spritz with the Clarifying Toner.

3)  Allow it to air dry just a little bit again, then spritz with the hydrating mist (currently I’m using the honey one).

4)  Allow it to air dry just a little bit again, then spritz again with Avene Thermal Water.

5)  Allow it to air dry completely.  Put nothing else after that or just 1 drop of Rosehip Oil.

LOL.

I know it sounds like a lot of spritzing & air drying, but if you stand around a ceiling face, I assure you that it takes no more than 3 mins.

My skin seems to love it for now.  It’s like… nicely hydrated, so my face does not feel ‘oily’ or ‘sticky’ or ‘blocked’.

I’m just going to try this for some time & see if my skin continues to relish it.

I dunno if all of you are the same, but for me, when I use a product over a period of time, my skin will at first seem to like it, but after awhile, it doesn’t seem to work anymore.  I read from the GoW website that this is a normal thing because your skin may become ‘complacent’ over time.  So what you can do is to switch your products or change your skincare routine a bit.

hmmmm… worth a thought.

I ordered a bottle of Certified Organic Tea Tree Oil from Milagro Trading recently.

I dropped a few drops into a bowl of hot water & use that to steam my face with.

Then when I was going thru some hormonal changes during that…. ‘MONTHLY’ thing, my skin broke out with a few zits around the face.  So I tried to dot a little TTO on the spots with a carrier oil like jojoba, but… … oh. my. god.

It was not good.  Not good at all.  In fact, it was close to being horrifying.  It made my zits even ANGRIER and pus-sier (if there’s such a word, which means more pus LOL!!!).

The surrounding skin around that zit had also broke out with 1 cystic acne.  =\

And I thought TTO was supposed to be like the mother of all zit-busters.  I’ve read so many reviews how great TTO is for their acne & whatever spotty skin they have, but it didn’t work for me at all.

I think I’m just going to just stick to using TTO in a steaming session & not to be applied directly on my skin.

Not sure if it’s due to the quality of the TTO or if my skin hates TTO.

I will probably finish up this current bottle, then get the TTO from another source to test it out again.

God bless my face.

Orh mi tuo fuo.

Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse for Hair.

I tried that the past month.  Once a week.  I chose Friday because I am worried that the ACV stench will remain in my hair & my colleagues might think that I don’t like to take showers.

I have to say that my favorite shampoo so far is still the Asience Nature Smooth Shampoo which I had posted a review HERE.  It is not a natural shampoo, but my hair likes this.  I haven’t had any luck finding a natural shampoo that pleases my hair & scalp yet.

I’ve tried Aubrey Organics GPB Glycogen Protein Balancing Shampoo, Phyto shampoo for oily scalp & the shampoo bars from Chagrin Valley which I have reviewed HERE.  None of them gives me the results like the Asience one.  =(

So, using the ACV rinse would help to get rid of any chemical build up & balance out the pH levels of my hair/scalp.

I use 1 part ACV to 5 parts water & leave the mixture in my hair without rinsing it off.  Then I wrap my hair up in a towel till it is semi-dry.  After that, I let it air dry.

I am a big fan of air dry.

Question:

Please share your views & opinions!!!  I desperately need help in this area.

How would you like to celebrate your wedding????

Option 1:  Register your marriage (ROM), take wedding photos, then go for a 2 weeks overseas honeymoon.  Forget about the wedding dinner & all those traditional formalities.

Option 2:  ROM, take wedding photos, do the whole shebang with the wedding dinner & the traditional tea ceremony.  Go on a short overseas honeymoon (not 2 weeks, or maybe 2 weeks if you can still afford it after spending a bomb on the wedding dinner).

Option 3:  Friggin just ROM & get on with your goddamn life.

Option 4:  Get pregnant, ROM & get on with your miserable goddamn life.

Important Note – I am JUST KIDDING on Option 3 & 4.  I realized that people always think I am being serious when I am telling a joke.  *poker face*

Ok, so between Option 1 & 2, which would you pick?

Peace.

Gong Xi Fa Cai.

And may all of those who read my blog win BIG MONEY in 4D / Toto / CNY gambling!

BAKING SODA AND APPLE CIDER VINEGAR!
omg you go google NO POO (i think it means no shampoo, sounds a bit funky though)
i used to think its like weird to wash my hair with that but i did hear that its good as a clarifying scalp thingy. like, get rid of product build up and stuff. my friend told me to try it so that very night at 10 plus pm i seriously went down ntuc to buy and tried it.
OMG I SO HAVE TO RAVE ABOUT THIS. hahahaha it feels like im writing a post in your comment section LOL. omg i swear this stuff is even better than normal shampoos! ITS LIKE SO GOOD TO THE ENVIRONMENT AND SO GOOD TO OUR HAIR COS NO CHEMICALS YAY!
stinks like…. crazy but after you dry your hair the acv smell just disappears omfg!
just google away man! its epic! ive been washing my hair for the past few days with this stuff and i love it!
anyways i choose option 2 with the bangbangs LOL!

you WASH your hair with ACV??????? like… everyday??? is it drying? i read from some websites that ACV can be drying (unless… you hv oily scalp?). AND CAN YOU PLEASE LEAVE YOUR BEAUTY BLOG ADDRESS WHEN YOU FILL IN THE COMMENTS???? hahahahhaa… so I can click it with ease. and also i’m thinking of adding a column at the side of my blog on “blogs that I read”, yours & lenna’s blogs will be on it. also, i hope you add the recipe of your NO POO POO baking soda & acv shampoo. I’m too lazy to research now. too much work to be done. lollll (^_^)v peace.

yeah, you haven’t replied to my sms on when to collect your BSY soap lor… (-_-“) your soap is feeling extremely lonely in my dark cabinet. he told me that altho he has a few friends with him like Lil Ms Manuka Honey & Mr Lemon Balm Hydrosol, but it wants to be on your skin lolll… sounds so… wrong.

(O_O) btw, you kw what bang bang means???? it’s…. something… R(rated). LOL!!!

      • sheryl 28 January 2011 at 1:15 AM #

ARGH I NEED TO RETYPE THIS COMMENT THIS IS SO SAD.

ya ive been washing my hair with baking soda and acv! its mad awesome but ya sometimes if i accidentally add too much of one ingredient my hair gets a bit fried but at least i know its fried not because of horrible chemicals! hahahaha but the soda is supposed to clean while the acv is supposed to condition… LOL

anyway i was thinking cos due to work (DAMN) i dont update my beauty blog anymore. should i just go back to my personal blog and blog about everything including beauty related posts? something like your blog, i would say? hmmm let me know!

and omg we seriously have to find a time to let me finally reunite with mr soapy! LOL when are you free! do let me know :O

and my adult friend calls it pokepoke. more subtler than bangbang. bwahahahahaha 😀

      • Berry Mii 28 January 2011 at 10:46 AM #

LOL!! i wonder why the previous comment didn’t show. hmmmm..

I might try that baking soda with ACV someday. I’ve been trying baking soda as a scrub on my face already. So far it’s ok on my T-zone, but a little stinging on my U & O zones. LOL.

hmmm… i would think that if you are too busy to post at least once every few days, then probably will be a good idea to combine your personal & beauty blog. I feel that having 2 blogs will be just too much to handle (ps – i’m actually already neglecting my original blog LOL, i created BerryMii becuz I wanted to remain anonymous due to certain contents hahaha).

just sms me to let me kw when you’ll be able to come down. then we’ll arrange from there. (^_^)v

  2. Lenna 27 January 2011 at 1:59 AM #

I read somewhere one time about how it’s a good idea to rotate products, so I currently have 2 scrubs and 3 cleansers that I use every other day. No real pattern, it’s just like “Oh, I want to use X today”. Probably because I buy too many face cleansers to try and stuff. Xp

My theoretical wedding with my theoretical boyfriend (LOL) will be small with super delicious food and a cake and probably a small honeymoon, with a cute cheap dress and just my family and his family and some friends. A big fancy shebang (love that word~) would be nice, but I am already super paranoid about it being expensive and stuff. Unless it’s all paid for by someone else though…but if we have to pay, it will have to be cute and little.

    • Berry Mii 27 January 2011 at 8:56 PM #

LOL!!! i know! i look at your blog posts & see that you buy A LOT of stuff. with all the makeup products combine, it will probably last me 100 years. LOL! you have some pretty interesting stuff!

LOL! ok theoretically (haha), i love your idea. but in reality, I’m still torn between the 2 options. =\ The whole shebang will probably cost AT LEAST $20,000 (just the dinner alone! not counting in the wedding photos, gowns, makeup artists, etc etc). But on the other hand, I dunno if one day, when I’m old & superbly wrinkly, would i regret not walking down a proper aisle? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm… decisions decisions.

      • Lenna 28 January 2011 at 1:45 AM #

Maybe a mix of the two options? Have a shorter honeymoon (1 week-ish instead of 2) and a nice but not super extravagant wedding dinner and tea (you have no idea how cute a wedding tea ceremony thing sounds in my head and now I want to do that too, haha) and walk down the aisle? Don’t spend a bomb on the dinner, just spend, like, half a bomb? Hehe

      • Berry Mii 28 January 2011 at 10:32 AM #

Hmmm… half a bomb sounds good. like do the solemnisation at a hotel then a grand lunch buffet (dunno if it’s going to be cute though LOL! how you define ‘cute’ wedding tea ceremony?). then an awesome honeymoon. =D thanks babe!!! *hugs & kisses*

  3. Han Solo 27 January 2011 at 3:21 PM #

I’ll have to go with… Lenna. An intimate lunch or dinner buffet with close friends. The whole shebang (lol i learnt a new word today) is way too much cost.

    • Berry Mii 27 January 2011 at 8:51 PM #

yeah… i am actually thinking of the effort put in… and the money that I’m going to spend. i would rather spend it on a really awesome holiday!

  4. Desiree 27 January 2011 at 7:46 PM #

wahahaha… i go for option 4. but seriously will go for the shebang no matter how much it cost! a girl only gets married once!

    • Berry Mii 27 January 2011 at 8:50 PM #

hmmm… tat’s true. my bf did warn me that if I chose option 1, then i better NOT REGRET IT in 10 years’ time. LOL! option 4 is not an option for me – not becuz of the unwed mother part, but more of the kids-don’t-really-fit-into-my-existing-life part. i’m still not feeling the motherly instincts.
